So I’m part of this 31 day challenge, I’ll write on a new topic every day . I hope to focus them around the theme of my blog (life after college), and hope that through these unique words/topics I’ll add some more glitter to the world, inspiration to myself and others, and have some fun. You can learn more about it here.

What isn’t there to say about purple? It’s my favorite color, it was the key color at my wedding, and looking at anything purple just makes me happy. I don’t have any deep thoughts for today’s word, I just really love purple. I hope to accumulate more things in my life that our purple. One of my favorite purple things I wear are these zany purple, black, white, and yellow socks one of my housemates gave me. They are the best (the socks, also my housemate).

Purple is the color of royalty (cause it used to be only royalty could afford the color cause of how expensive the dye was). Purple was my aunts favorite color, she always used to wear these rich deep purples (like a plum), I think of her often when I see the color purple.  Especially that particular shade that she was always buying dresses in.

Even though my birth stone is the emerald, I wear a purple amethyst in my Claddagh ring, because S (at the time honoring our 1st dating anniversary) decided my adoration of purple was more important than the month I was born in.  I think he made the right decision.

And really it just feels like such a joyful color, a bright loving color, but it also has moods and depths when you delve into the darker shades. I love purple in all it’s splendor, moods, and shades.
